Solar Panel Energy Production - How Does it Work, How Much Money Can I Make

A: The Ontario Green Energy Act (GEA) received Royal Assent on May 14, 2009.   The GEA streamlines the process for renewable energy approvals and provides for a Feed-in Tariff program.  For more information, click here.
A: The FIT program is a Provincial incentive designed to grow the use of renewable energy in Ontario.  For small projects of 10kW or less, there is a parallel program, MicroFIT.
A: The MicroFIT program targets small renewable energy developers whose project is less than 10kW in capacity.  The MicroFIT program simplifies the application and approval process for your renewable energy project compared to the FIT program.  Sunrise Sustainable Energy specializes in Solar PV installations for the MicroFIT program.
A: Yes!  Sunrise Sustainable Energy products exceed the current Ontario content regulations as set out in the MicroFIT regulations.  For more information, click here or email us.
A: Under optimal conditions, each kW of installed capacity can generate $950+ per year, and $17,700+ over the lifetime of your MicroFIT contract.
A: 6 PV panels will provide for approximately 1kW of installed capacity.
A: Sunrise Sustainable Energy can provide as many or as few solar panels as your project requires.  Each panel is ~15 sq ft in area, and each kW of capacity (6 panels) will require approximately 90-100 sq ft of usable roof space.
